Sustainability is set to be the focus of Tyn Dwr Hall’s winter open day aptly named – ‘The Green One’.

The eco-friendly-focused event will take place at the historic country hall set on the outskirts of Llangollen on Sunday, November 20th, from 2-5pm.

Guests will receive a goody bag and a glass of fizz on arrival and they will be able to tour the stunningly restored wedding venue, its terrace, grounds and accommodation and speak to more than a dozen suppliers from florists to musicians and photographers.

Tracey Owen, General Manager at Tyn Dwr Hall said: “After a record-breaking year of weddings for our wonderful hall, we are delighted to welcome new couples to visit for our winter open day. We already do lots behind the scenes to make sure we can protect the environment as much as possible, so we are hoping we can inspire couples and help them in taking a more sustainable approach to their special day.”

The team at Tyn Dwr Hall not only recycle glass, use biodegradable cutlery for their street food stand and composts leftovers to feed their garden, but they have also recently planted fruit trees and plants behind the Coach House which could eventually end up on bespoke wedding breakfast menus in 2024.

Tracey added: “With an abundance of bee-friendly plants, our gardens also support a range of local wildlife including butterflies, dragonflies, squirrels, birds, and our Hall cat Smokey. In addition, we also have a family of ducks who return to the Hall every year to raise their young (this year they had seven little ducklings!).”

It’s not just the environment that benefits from Tyn Dwr Halls’ eco-approach – centrepieces and leftover flowers left by couples are donated to residents at Llangollen Fechan, a care home near Tyn Dwr Road, so the pleasure of the beautiful wedding displays can last that little longer.

Tracey added: “Our expert team, along with our brilliant suppliers have a wealth of knowledge to help guide couples through their wedding journey; from flowers to favours, stationary to decor, we’ve got lots of ideas to share on how to make your wedding more sustainable. Guests will also be able to view our brand-new dates and offers for 2025! We look forward to welcoming you.”

No booking is required for ‘The Green One’ on Sunday, November 20th from 2-5pm.

Private Viewings are available for Saturday, November 19th from 12-5pm and bookings are required for this date.
