Rhuddlan School Zone’s active travel consultation opens today.
Residents are being invited to have their say on future improvements for local walking, wheeling, and cycling around Ysgol y Castell in Rhuddlan.
The consultation will include Castle Street, Hylas Lane, and Abbey Road.
Denbighshire County Council is currently working with Sustrans Cymru to understand how to make travelling actively in the local area more accessible, safer, and more enjoyable for the whole community, encouraging more journeys to be taken on foot or cycle instead of by car.
Sustrans, on behalf of the Council, is now seeking feedback from the people that live, work, and travel on the selected streets who could benefit from the proposals, on what they would like to see along the new routes in the future.
Councillor Barry Mellor, Lead Member for Environment and Transport said, “Encouraging active travel helps reduce car journeys, improves air quality, and offers safe routes for pedestrians and cyclists while also providing health and well-being benefits. We’d like to hear from residents what they think about the proposals and encourage people to take part in this consultation.”
Residents can share their ideas and feedback by visiting the project website hosted by Sustrans: https://storymaps.arcgis.com/stories/8d6ab81802af4f4e86ceee83f9c8df7d
The survey will be available online until Friday 13th October.
Paper versions of the consultation survey can be obtained by contacting Sustrans Cymru via email: rhuddlan@sustrans.org.uk or by writing to them at Sustrans Cymru, One Canal Parade, Dumballs Road, CF10 5BF Cardiff.
