“The tourism industry has been one of the hardest hit in recent years, but the hard work and dedication of successful tourism businesses like these is helping to fuel growth in Denbighshire and as a Council we welcome their contribution to the local economy.

“It was really positive to see that the STEAM (Scarborough Tourism Economic Activity Monitor) figures showed record economic growth for 2022 with tourism generating £628m, beating the pre-covid figure of £552m by almost 14%.

“These figures are very welcome and demonstrate the importance of tourism to the local economy and the resilience of this sector in what has been a challenging period for the industry.”

The Go North Wales Tourism Awards celebrate the valuable contribution that businesses make to the growing visitor economy. Entries are judged on a range of criteria including use of innovation, engaging with the local community, sustainability, achievements, skills, social inclusivity, and overall quality.
