Big Business North Wales Draws More Than 1,000 Delegates as Region Showcases Economic Ambition
One of the largest business events ever held in North Wales has been hailed as a major success after attracting more than 1,000 delegates, exhibitors, entrepreneurs and business leaders to Venue Cymru in Llandudno.
Big Business North Wales 2026 brought together more than 200 businesses and organisations from across Wales, the UK and beyond, creating a platform for networking, collaboration and investment opportunities across the region. The inaugural event occupied more than 10,000 square metres of exhibition space and featured dedicated zones focusing on key sectors including skills, workforce development, innovation and business growth.
The event was organised by Nina Sardar, Founder of North Wales Business Network, and was designed to highlight the strength, resilience and potential of the North Wales economy.
Among those attending was Janet Finch-Saunders MS, Member of the Senedd for Bangor Conwy Môn, who spent time meeting exhibitors and delegates and discussing the opportunities and challenges facing businesses across the region.
Janet Finch-Saunders MS said:
“It was a pleasure to attend Big Business North Wales 2026 and meet so many businesses, entrepreneurs and organisations from across the region.
“North Wales is home to a thriving business community, and events such as this provide an excellent opportunity to showcase talent, innovation and ambition that exists across our area. From small local firms to larger employers, businesses are the backbone of our economy and create jobs, investment and opportunities for local people.
“I would like to congratulate the organisers on delivering such a successful event and thank everyone who took the time to speak with me. I look forward to continuing to support businesses across Bangor Conwy Môn and emphasising the importance of a thriving private sector.”
The event’s keynote address was delivered by Alwen Williams, Chief Executive of Ambition North Wales, who outlined regional economic priorities, investment programmes and future growth opportunities. Delegates also took part in a question-and-answer session covering infrastructure, skills development, workforce challenges and business support.
A dedicated Skills, Talent and Workforce Zone proved particularly popular, bringing together employers, training providers, educational institutions and jobseekers. The initiative created opportunities for businesses to engage with future talent while helping young people and graduates better understand the career opportunities available within North Wales.
The exhibition floor also showcased a wide range of innovative products, technologies and services, underlining the growing reputation of North Wales as a hub for entrepreneurship, manufacturing, technology and business innovation.
Nina Sardar said the strong turnout demonstrated a real appetite for a major business event dedicated to the region and highlighted the importance of creating opportunities for businesses to connect, collaborate and grow.
For many attendees, the success of the inaugural event reflected the growing confidence of the North Wales business community and its determination to play an increasingly important role in driving economic growth across Wales and the wider UK.
With strong attendance, positive feedback from exhibitors and significant interest from delegates, organisers are expected to build on this year’s success as Big Business North Wales establishes itself as a flagship event in the regional business calendar.
