Wrexham kitchen renovation company named fastest-growing business in national awards

A local kitchen renovation business has won a national award after achieving 33% year-on-year growth and building a five-star reputation with customers across North Wales.

Jamie Roberts, who runs Kitchen Makeovers in Wrexham, was named winner of the Fastest-Growing Business award at the annual awards ceremony in June. The award recognises the progress of a business that has grown significantly over the past year while maintaining high standards of customer care, workmanship and attention to detail.

For Jamie, the recognition marks a major milestone after taking the business full-time last year, having initially dipped his toe into business ownership on a flexible basis.

“I didn’t want to jump straight into the deep end,” said Jamie. “I had overheads like a mortgage to think about, so I knew I had to play it smart. Then last year, it got to the point where I was getting more work, more leads, and a lot of my time was spent at night following up enquiries. I realised that was the point where I needed to take the jump and go all in.”

Before launching Kitchen Makeovers in Wrexham, Jamie worked as a self-employed carpenter and joiner for more than 15 years.

“I got to the stage where I wanted to do something different, but not entirely different,” explained Jamie. “I wanted to take my joinery skills and experience into something that meant working closer to home and less travelling.”

“I didn’t expect to win anything on the night,” said Jamie. “You don’t know if you’re in the running, so when you hear your name called out, it’s a bit of a shock. It’s good for me because it shows that all the work I’ve put into the business is paying off. It’s nice to see that and the team’s effort recognised.”
