Denbighshire County Council will mark Reserves Day and Armed Forces Day this week.

Welsh and English Armed Forces Day flags will be flown at County Hall, Ruthin, from June 21 to June 24.

Armed Forces Day, which takes place on June 24, is a chance to support the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community, from currently serving troops to service families, veterans and cadets. Reserves Day celebrates their contribution to the Armed Forces and takes place on June 21.

Cllr Pete Prendergast, Chair of Denbighshire County Council and Cllr Julie Matthews, the council’s Armed Forces champion said:

“Armed Forces Day is a national celebration for people in Denbighshire and across the country to show their appreciation for the contribution made by all those who serve in His Majesty’s Armed Forces.

We are showing our support from the county for those Armed Forces members past and present who have risked their lives to protect us by flying these flags at County Hall.

We are pleased we are also honouring the vital contribution reservists make to our Armed Forces”.
