Four injured, one critically, following incident on Caernarfon camp site
North Wales Police are investigating an incident overnight on Rhyd y Galen campsite near Caernarfon which has left 4 injured, one critically.
Early reports indicate that four campers were struck by a vehicle being driven on the normally idyllic campsite. One woman has been critically injured and remains in hospital at this time.
Two men have been arrested in relation to the incident and are in police custody while police continue their investigations.
DCI Sion Williams said in a statement:
“This was a terrifying event for people who should have felt safe in their tents. North Wales Police are supporting those involved and our thoughts are with the family of the woman who has been seriously injured.”
“I would like to thank those members of the public who have helped us, but if anyone has not been spoken to yet and has any information which could assist, then please contact us. Our Roads Policing Unit is working with detectives to establish exactly what happened.”
