New project to support people in temporary accommodation creates over twenty new jobs
Denbighshire County Council has awarded The Salvation Army the contract to run the Temporary Emergency Accommodation Support Project in Rhyl which aims to support people in Denbighshire currently housed in emergency accommodation.
In order to deliver this project, over twenty exciting new roles have been created to work with vulnerable people in the area. Some of the roles currently being advertised are:
- Service Manager
- Specialist Support Worker Engagement & Activities
- Citizen Floating Support Workers
- Citizen Support Workers
- Citizen Assistant support workers
The team will be working together to deliver a range of activities focussing on helping people to engage with the community, improve their home lives, and boost their health to build an independent and positive future.
This will include supporting them to create connections in the community to engage with activities; taking advantage of volunteering opportunities; as well as engaging in learning and developing skills for the job market. Staff will also assist people with practical life skills from cooking to property maintenance; help them to access health services and signpost individuals to support and community groups to develop friendships which should enable them to regain their independence.

The activities the team will deliver will help individuals to rebuild their lives and enable them to build a better future for themselves. The Salvation Army have 150 years of history in supporting vulnerable groups in our society. We are pleased to be able to bring our expertise in this field to support people in Rhyl.”
