North Wales construction consultancy achieves global award
Bangor based construction consultancy Caulmert is the latest company to be awarded The BRE Global BIM Level 2 Business Systems Certification.
The certification demonstrates a business’ capability to utilise advanced 3D modelling tools and have the standards, methods, procedures, skilled staff and infrastructure in place to meet BIM Level 2 requirements.
Caulmert is one of less than 100 companies to achieve the global award which was launched in response to the Government’s Construction strategy. BIM (Building Information Modelling) refers to the collaborative use of 3D models during the design and construction of buildings in order to save money, reduce waste and have better predictability on a project.
Operating in the UK and internationally, Caulmert delivers engineering, environmental, planning and project management services from its offices in North Wales, Cheshire, Nottingham, and Kent. Established in 2009, the company has enjoyed rapid and impressive growth from specialist waste sector consultant to multi-million-pound consultancy working on major schemes for Airbus, TGI Fridays, leading waste company Virdor and Stoke City FC.
Managing Director Michael Caulfield said
”We are thrilled to achieve the BRE Global BIM Level 2 Certification. This is testament to the ambition and commitment of our staff. We adopted the principles of BIM several years ago and have been working towards the certification since then. As a result, the team has amassed significant experience in the application of BIM. Most recently we worked on Menai Science Park with WIlmott Dixon and Ysgol Glancegin, Bangor with Wynne Construction, both of which were BIM level 2 projects. This award now cements our place as one of relatively few UK businesses who can truly demonstrate full BIM capability.”
