North Wales opticians set to host charity bingo night for Alzheimer’s charity
A North Wales eye care team that delivers domiciliary services to thousands of customers, many living with dementia, is inviting the community to a charity bingo night in aid of Alzheimer’s Society.
The Specsavers Clwyd and Snowdonia Home Visits team will host the event at the Halkyn Cricket Club, Holywell on Friday 10 April, with all proceeds going to the charity.
The team provides eyecare to people across North Wales who are unable to leave their homes due to physical or mental health needs, meaning they regularly see first-hand the impact dementia has on customers and their families.
Now, they are hoping to bring the local community together to raise funds and awareness through a night of bingo, prizes and fundraising.
Abbey Hughes, office supervisor, from the team says: ‘Through our work visiting people in their homes, we see every day the impact dementia can have, not just on those living with the condition but their families, carers and loved ones, too.
‘That’s why supporting Alzheimer’s Society means so much to us.
‘We’d love to see as many people as possible join us on the night.’
Prizes available on the night include a range of high-street gift vouchers donated by the team, alongside donations from local businesses, including Apollo Bingo Rhyl, The Craft Shack, Flowers By Anne, Hair by Sarah, Waffle Box, The Gathering, Spavens and Hungry Cow.
Those wishing to attend can purchase tickets by contacting Abbey on 01352 751 374 or emailing her at abbey.hughes@specsavers.com.
