Open day at Prestatyn Roman Bath House enjoyed by all

An open day was recently held at the historic Roman Bath House situated on the outskirts of Prestatyn.

Held on Saturday the 18th of March from 10am-4pm, visitors were treated to a whole host of exciting activities including making Roman-inspired art out of modelling clay, with colouring in available for the younger attendees.

There were also historical artifacts available for viewing, which included some of the items that were found during the excavations. These included a broach, both sheep and cow bones that are dated to be almost 2,000 years old and jewellery, including beads.

The original tiles which sat on the roof of the bathhouse were also on show, as well as bits of pottery which were used by the Roman Legion that bathed there.

The historic Roman construction is now managed by Denbighshire County Council and countryside rangers were at hand to explain further historical information to the attendees.
