‘Peoples Champion’ & law lecturer set to help North Wales employers with legal advice

Following more than 15 years of representing clients via the Citizens Advice Bureau, Bangor University law lecturer and solicitor Ian Winrow has now launched his own law firm in Caernarfon, offering individuals and businesses advice and representation on employment law and matrimonial issues.
Ian is a part-time lecturer at Bangor University’s School of Law where he is module leader for Employment Law on both the LLB and LLM programmes, meaning he is perfectly placed to advise both businesses and individuals in this ever-changing field.
Ian has helped many individuals obtain justice over the years, and with employment law evolving constantly, is perfectly placed to help employers avoid costly tribunals by getting their employment law policies and procedures right.  Ian explains:

“While I can represent individuals and employer businesses at tribunal, by that stage, things have broken down irretrieveably – whoever wins at a tribunal, both the business and the employee have lost, it’s disruptive for everyone involved.
“Obviously I have encountered some genuinely ‘bad’ employers over the years, and helped their victims achieve justice – but many employers are just small business owners who don’t understand the law and make a genuine mistake – because there are so many regulations to be aware of.  I want to use the experience I have built up to help employers gain a better understanding of employment law, and support them to be good employers who retain and encourage their staff.
“I am able to help advise on any aspect of employment or matrimonial law and look forward to working within the North Wales Business Community.”
