Site Manager scoops regional award for excellence
A site manager who turned around a difficult development in just two years has scooped an award for for regional excellence.
Bulgarian born Radoslav Ivanchev, site manager at Persimmon Homes North West’s development at The Oaks in Flintshire, has won an LABC Warranty Building Excellence Awards which recognise dedication and commitment to the role.
He now goes forward as North Wales Site Manager of the Year representative to the national grand finals to be held November.
Rado, 39, has only been working for Persimmon Homes for just under three years. He said:
“I am pleased to have won the regional award, but it really is for everyone on the site.
“I would say that I am a good motivator and that I am able to create a positive working environment that the whole team responds to, from my assistant through to the trades and drivers.
Rado, who is married with two children, came over to Britain from Bulgaria 16 years ago, and through roles with agencies and developers worked his way up from labourer to site. His role as site manager at The Oaks proved pivotal.
“It was not the easiest of sites, but together the whole team turned it around into the success it is today, and I think that must be what the judges liked.”
Karl Wiseman, construction director at Persimmon Homes North West, said:
“Rado’s success in these awards in these awards is a great tribute to him.
“He has years of experience behind him and never fails to achieve the exacting standards he sets for his sites. He has the respect of all his colleagues at Persimmon Homes and we wish him all the best for the finals – his place is certainly well deserved.”
