Where can you find the UK’s most affordable glamping destinations? Here’s a clue; check out Wales!

Staycations have seen a major boom since the pandemic, and many are looking to do it in style, with traffic for glamping increasing by 14% Y.O.Y.* on outdoor accommodation booking site, Pitchup. But where are the cheapest destinations for glamping?

Glamping offers campers a much more luxurious stay, providing upgraded facilities and accommodation compared to what’s expected of camping, while still allowing for the immersive experience of being with nature.

Using internal booking data, Pitchup has revealed that Gwynedd is the cheapest destination for glamping in Wales and is in the top 10 cheapest glamping destinations across the UK**.

Beating popular Welsh camping and glamping spots, Anglesey and Pembrokeshire, Gwynedd took the top spot with the average glamping booking price per night being £67.77 – 32.89% cheaper than the Welsh average of £90.06.

Ceredigion was the second cheapest glamping region in Wales with the average price per night costing £74.14, 21.47% cheaper than the Welsh average.

Gwynedd also ranked as the 9th cheapest glamping spot in the UK. South Yorkshire was revealed to be the cheapest region for glamping at an average nightly price of £45. Across the UK, the average cost per night for glamping bookings was £89.11.

The West Midlands took second place at £54.13 on average per night. Scotland rounded out third and fourth spots on the list, with Caithness and Stirlingshire costing an average of £60 and £60.98 respectively per night.
