More Than 500 Attend Denbighshire Jobs Fair as Employers Seek Local Talent

Busy Community Careers Fair in Historic Hall

Working Denbighshire event in Rhyl connects jobseekers with employers, training providers and employment support services.

More than 500 people attended a major employment event in Rhyl as businesses and training organisations came together to promote job opportunities and support workforce development across Denbighshire.

The Working Denbighshire Jobs Fair, held at Queen’s Market on 30 September, provided residents with opportunities to meet employers, explore vacancies and receive advice on developing their careers.

The event brought together businesses, training providers and employment support organisations from a range of sectors, helping jobseekers identify opportunities in the local labour market.

Visitors were able to speak directly with recruiters, discuss employment requirements, submit applications and learn about training programmes.

Supporting recruitment and workforce development

Working Denbighshire coordinated the event and provided advisers to assist attendees with CV preparation, career planning and overcoming barriers to employment.

The initiative is intended to help employers connect with potential recruits while supporting residents who may need additional assistance to enter or return to work.

Peter Cadmore, Early Intervention Manager at Working Denbighshire, said:

“The Jobs Fair demonstrated just how much opportunity exists within our local area and highlighted the power of partnership working. It was fantastic to see so many residents engaging with employers, discovering new possibilities, and taking positive steps towards their employment goals.

“We’d like to thank all of the organisations that attended and contributed to making the event such a success. Their commitment to supporting local people is invaluable and helps create stronger, more resilient communities.”

Council highlights economic benefits

Councillor Hugh Evans OBE, Leader of Denbighshire County Council and Lead Member for Economic Growth, Corporate Governance and Tackling Deprivation, welcomed the turnout.

“Creating opportunities for local people remains a priority for the Council, and events such as this provide an important platform for residents to connect directly with employers and support services.

“It was encouraging to see such strong engagement throughout the day, demonstrating the ambition of our residents and the willingness of employers and partners to invest in local talent.”

The jobs fair forms part of the council’s wider efforts to support sustainable employment and economic growth.

Working Denbighshire is part-funded through the Welsh Government’s Communities for Work Plus programme, which provides support to people facing barriers to employment.

For businesses, initiatives of this kind offer opportunities to recruit locally, develop relationships with training providers and improve awareness of available employment support.
