Denbighshire Council prepares to welcome show visitors
Denbighshire County Council will be showcasing some of its campaigns and services at the Denbigh and Flint 2023 show.
The show takes place at the Green near Denbigh on Thursday, August 17th and a number of the Council’s teams will be present to meet and greet visitors.
Climate Change Programme staff will be on hand to discuss how the Council is working to tackle the impact of climate change through the introduction of EV technology to reduce fleet tailpipe emissions where appropriate and provide a charging network for all across the county.
The staff will also give an insight into other ongoing work to support the county’s biodiversity and environment.
This exhibition will be complemented by the Countryside Services and Tourism teams who will be promoting their sustainable work in the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Denbighshire.
Working Denbighshire will also be on hand to promote their support for helping young people get into work across the county and there will be a chance to discover how the history of the county has changed with time with Archives staff.
The Council will also be joined by Flintshire County Council’s Climate Change Team, Fostering Service, Early Years staff and Hft Flintshire who support people with learning disabilities.
Councillor Emrys Wynne, Cabinet Lead Member for the Welsh Language, Culture and Heritage, as well as Rural Affairs, said: “We are really looking forward to supporting the Denbigh and Flint which has been an important part of the rural events calendar for many years and brings thousands of visitors to The Green
Cllr Barry Mellor, Lead Member for Environment and Transport, added: “It is great that we can have the conversation out on the Green about how we are approaching tackling the influence of climate change across Denbighshire. We are always willing to engage and listen to residents who have their own ideas on how to protect our environment and biodiversity and we hope to hear from them at the show.”
