The Micro-provider initiative, run by Denbighshire County Council has grown in numbers and now provides over 840 hours of care and support per week within the county.

The initiative is a free development programme, which supports residents to set up their own Micro-provider service in their local communities.

Collectively, the 45 businesses provide 841 hours of care and support in Denbighshire to over 200 residents each week.

Micro-providers offer care and support to older and disabled people in their own homes to help them live their lives their way.

These businesses help citizens in a number of different ways, including; practical help around the house, cleaning, helping with meals, DIY, shopping, personal care, dog walking, companionship and much more.

The scheme is free to join and means that the people of Denbighshire can work for themselves, work locally and choose their own hours, helping the local people in their community and offer a service that they can be proud of.

Nick Hughes, Deputy Team Manager, Edge of Care Team said:

“Micro-providers are local people helping other local people.

Hundreds more people in Denbighshire now have access to care and support so they can live their best lives.”

Councillor Elen Heaton, Lead Member for Health and Social Care said:

“The thriving success of the Micro-provider initiative empowers individuals in Denbighshire to shape their own hours in a truly fulfilling role.

Each Micro-provider delivers a vital service within Denbighshire, helping people to remain independent and comfortable in their own homes.”
