Seaside town lifted by success of new 6,000 sq m health and exercise complex

MINDS, bodies, and spirits in a seaside town have been lifted by the arrival of a revolutionary health and exercise complex.

LVL5 Gyms Ltd has been a major success since opening in December, attracting a variety of new members and day visitors to Llandudno.

The 6,000 square-metre two-floor facility – formerly Tudno Castle Hotel – had been vacant for several years before directors Sion Pritchard and Rich Blake took on the premises.

They transformed the building into a state-of-the-art, high-quality gym, complete with coffee and smoothie bar, sauna, changing rooms, retail store and more, and are thrilled with the positive response from residents and businesses in past weeks.

“It was some journey to this point, but we are proud, as two people who grew up in the area, to now be open and helping to attract people to the town while supporting the local economy,” said Sion.

“Our aim was always to bring something fresh and vibrant to Llandudno, and with LVL5 we’ve done that, appealing to gym users of all ages and abilities.

“The space is contemporary and modern but also warm and welcoming, whether you are here to train and keep fit, or want to pop in for a coffee and to work remotely.

“We have something for everyone and are hugely proud of what we’ve achieved so far.”

And there is so much more to come.

Employing up to 10 staff and supporting local companies and producers such as Tatws Trading fruit and veg store, and nearby Heartland Coffee Roasters, their partnership with equipment pioneer Primal Strength has seen the complex fitted-out with some of the most innovative technology in the sector, including the region’s first Fit3D Proscanner.

A Saturday night ‘Power Hour’ and ‘Sunday Stretch’ have proven popular, creating an energetic buzz followed by a more relaxing, calm vibe each weekend, and there is a sense of real community and support among the members.

Rich, a personal trainer and Workplace Resilience and Wellbeing Master Practitioner (WRAW MP), said their ethos and belief in centring all training around the mind and body – focusing on a healthy routine and wellbeing – has been well received locally, and further afield.

“We are really pleased by how many people have signed up already, but also welcome the many gym users who purchased a day pass to train or join a fitness class while on holiday, or here on business,” said Rich.

“LVL5 is much more than a place to keep fit, it’s an experience that brings a city feel to the seaside, unrivalled in this part of North Wales.

“We will continue to raise the bar year in, year out, and are so grateful for all the support we’ve received since day one.

“But we won’t rest on our laurels – this is just the start.”
